i have a meershaum "freehand" corn cob and the stem isnt glued in straight! they twisted it 45 deg when the glued it in the hole is this no bueno? will it still smoke? i trust that "freehand" doesnt mean screwed up and thrown together...yes
I assume you mean that the slant-cut end inside the bowl is rotated 45 degrees?
If so, I wouldn't sweat it too much. I have a bunch of MM cobs and sometimes they are a little bit twisted inside the bowl. They all smoke just fine.
Take the stem and the little metal collar off, throw the pipe in the microwave for 15 seconds and the stem will twist loose easy. I modify nearly all my cobs and this works every time.
