I have never started a new thread so I hope I'm doing this correctly. First off, I want to thank everyone on this forum for the great information and warm welcoming i've received since November when I joined.
I just wanted to share something with you all. As of late, my Sunday morning routine has been walking a few miles with my pipe, smoking Mac Baren Vanilla Cream Flake. This crisp winter air and a warm pipe is the perfect combination. I feel it brings a special touch to the holiday season as well. I do it because i love smoking my pipe and I enjoy the walk. However, I have to admit, I also enjoy the attention it brings from on-lookers. So many times I notice husbands turning their head and slowing down their vehicles noticing the pipe. This may be in my head, but if they are anything like me, I'm sure at least a few of them are saying, "honey, I'd like to try a pipe", or "wow, I remember my Dad or Grandpa smoking a pipe, perhaps I should try that". I think the more the public is aware of us smoking our pipes, the more they may be interested in trying it, or better understanding the benefits of it. I noticed lately in my area, a few people are talking about pipes again and an hour from where I live, there is a tobacco shop that is selling Cob pipes daily, something they haven't seen in a while, a good sign.
I just wanted to share this with my pipe community of friends and I highly encourage you all, if possible, to get out and enjoy your pipe in public places to bring awareness to this wonderful hobby.
