I picked this up from eBay, mainly because it was cheap and I'd never seen one before. I always considered Medico pipes to be what we used to call "drug store pipes". Usually something to be avoided as a rule. This is the first one I've ever owned, and this is really an odd one for me. I can't seem to find out much about this Medico Crest Artisan line of pipes. Stamped Italy as well as imported briar. It does fit comfortably in my left hand, but not the right so much. Seems to be well made and there is some nice birds eye grain on it. Any Medico collectors out there that might have some insight as to when these were made, or why were they made for that matter?

I don't know anything about this pipe, but I do know that the old medico I got in an estate sale, cleaned up beautifully after I took the stain off.

Again, why do people hide this awesome grain?!?!?

It looks like it would really fit and feel nice in the hand. I have a Charatan with some similar odd shaping to it and I love how it feels, it fits perfectly in my hand. Definitely looks like it was meant to be held in your left hand. I always hold my pipe in my left hand... guess cause I light and tamp with my right hand.

If it smokes well, it could begin looking better and better. It doesn't look bad to me, just unusual.

Is it super comfortable to hold in the hand? It looks like a thumb groove, and the pointier part looks like it would go in between the fingers on the other end?
