Yes Northernneil, I have my eye on a il duca (hope I spelled that right). Its a sand blasted dublin, that just looks cool.

You never know whats inside the wood and heat has a way of of bringing it out.Hot spots happen. Looks like your pipe is on its way to a burn out. I had it happen to me. I tried mudding it but the edge of the fill just kept smoldering and it got larger and the outside spot would get so hot i just chucked the pipe.
