Might Stick Around

I bought a few estate pipes for cheap at a pipe show yesterday to practice on. The guy threw this one in for free when I pointed out the crack. It’s an old Kaywoodie that clearly has had a lot of use.

I’m curious—what might you do for a crack like this (if anything). Near as I can tell, the crack does not go all the way through—it’s just on the surface.

There are a couple of other oddities: the stem is a circle but the shank is oval, and so they don’t quite match. And one side of the rim has been worn down a lot more than the rest. Since this is a free practice pipe, I don’t know how committed I am to it, but I may try some things out just to see. Any tips are appreciated.
