I do not deep clean them after evey smoke, just once per 3-6months or when i begin to get an unpleasant smoke.

I only have 12pipes so they get used alot.

Not perfect work, but definitely not bad. (Ideally, the shank's exterior texture should have been filled/leveled to prevent the band from "pebbling"), but getting a good band fit on an oval shank is uncommon.
The culprit, of course, is the oval shank itself. That was a "pressure separation", not a crack in the usual sense, and one that Dunhill---or any other manufacturer---could see coming from miles away.
Oval shanks should NOT be used below a certain size. The end.

@Georged & DidMauw, I do completely agree, now when looking at the repair costs invoice it was even less, $ 40,I was ready to pay more,to say the least, now the shank has reinforced sturdy feel to it,agreed looks are maybe not the perfect but satisfactory,of course this all will have a negative impact on the resale value of the very pipe, but hardly thinking of resale

and Dear Mr. Georged,if You don't mind,in the future,if and when I'm facing any pipe repair related problem,I definitely would like to consult You for the advice, and only then after hearing to You will decide how to proceed further,

Ps.another day I was removing oxidization from a stem and was five minutes away of rounding the edges, prior attempting to do this I shoulda been watched Georged Y Tube video on this subject in order to refresh my memory, I will post a picture of it very soon. Thank You for Your time and cooperation.

I'm glad that you can at least use the pipe again. And with a little luck you won't have any more problems with this fellow.

The silverwork is not perfect but it seems that it does the job needed and won't let the crack evolve any bigger.
