I wouldn't worry about it- there's always a really sharp angle where the draft hole meets the chamber leaving a tiny sliver of briar in that area that charred and cracked. I'm thinking about soldering a miniature burr to a 2" extension so I can reach inside the chamber and chamfer that edge on the pipes I make….
My best suggestion on new pipes, is load the sucker up, smoke it slow to the bottom, and don't be peeking in any dark holes looking for cracks….
