It is a very good blend. I noticed it went out of stock a week or two ago.
I am only curious if the blend maybe tweaked a bit or not if their supplier was Sutliff and are no longer able to procure the blending tobacco.
I hope not because it’s great stuff.

I’ve been considering purchasing small quantity of a Virginia and Dark-Fired Kentucky blend. In comparing two I have on hand, Cowboy Coffee to Gawith Hoggarth’s Dark Bird’s Eye, I found that Cowboy Coffee ultimately suited my preferences better. While Dark Bird’s Eye is undoubtedly a quality tobacco, the subtle Lakeland essence it carries makes it less ideal for my regular enjoyment. Cowboy Coffee, for me, offers a more agreeable profile and one I can see myself reaching for often.

Has anyone else noticed a slight change of the cowboy coffee since the debacle of Sutliff supplying leaf?
I know the country squire had to resource new leaf due to supply issues.
I have some pre-Sutliff closure cowboy coffee blend and some post.
I feel as if I can detect some difference. Both pre/post Sutliff are still good though. Just minute details.
Also could just be from batch to batch they make.

I am so confounded by this blend.

I thought it was absolute garbage for the first 2oz. I talked smack about it.

Now I just received a pound of it and it's all I want to smoke. Certainly have foot in mouth syndrome with some of the stuff I said about it and CS.
I was like this for all of my first CS blends. It took me a while to find the flavor pocket, as I think that CS blends like to burn hotter than most of my other blends. Now they're one of my favorite blenders.

I have not made an order since the Sutliffocalypse, but I'm not surprised if the blend has changed.

I was in Gatlinburlier Tobacconist a few weeks ago chatting with the fellas and they are in the process of reformulating some of their house blends in light of the demise of Sutliff. I asked if they were going to rename the blends that change, and they said they are not, as they own the trademark on their unique names.

I didn't voice my disagreement in person at the time, but I seriously question the wisdom of changing major constitutive parts of a blend and not giving any signal of that change, most easily done via the name. I know it happens all the time, but I think it's a disservice to the customer who has come to appreciate a particular product.

I spoke with a blender at the Gatlinburlier and he openly told me due to supply things would have to be reblended, same with country squire. They were open with it and not hiding it from the customers. This came as no surprise. It’s usually small variant differences. Hence why I was asking about cowboy coffee. Tried some newer blend this morning. Going to try some older blend tomorrow and gather some more thoughts.
The newer batches have some bigger chunks of leaf in them.

Did confirm the old blend vs the new blend. I liked the older blend slightly more. Not enough I wont continue to smoke and the buy newer slightly altered blend though. Its still amazing stuff!!!
I will give props to Country Squire for creating and maintain an amazing product.
Also the older batch I have has a little age on it, maybe have made a slight difference. I have 3-4 pounds of the newer blend.

It is still my go to favorite smoke in the morning with a black coffee!

I have around 3½ pounds in my cellar right now from before Sutliff closed. I probably won't have any newer stuff for a while.
