Are you affected by coupons/discount codes?

Because of coupons and discounts, I find myself with my pipe hutch maxed out for pipes and tobacco and my humidors bursting with cigars. It didn't stop me from buying a box of smokes the other day when I got 35% off code with free shipping.

The emails and texts are incessant and I don't want to turn them off and miss a good deal!

I use them if available but it makes no difference to my purchasing decisions. If it’s available at a price I’m willing to pay and I want / need it then I buy. The discount is merely a nice bonus.

The exception to this was several years ago when P&C was advertising Stanwell pipes for $19.99 or something crazy and I bought a few that I neither wanted or needed prior to seeing that sale because it was just such a bargain! Still have them and they still smoke great.

Not really for me, I have enough to last a little while, so if it's not limited or hard to get, I can wait. If something comes up that I'm interested in, I'll stick it in my wishlist and once I have enough in my list from one brand that I want to try, I'll pick it up when it goes on sale. Even then, Stokkebye has gone on sale many times, there's several I'd be interested in trying, but I'm not THAT interested, so I've never picked it up... that's one that if something else I really wanted was put out and I was buying it, that if the Stokkebye happened to be on sale at the time, I might grab a few to bring me up to free shipping if I were already close-ish to free shipping. Meanwhile, I wanted several HU blends (more than any of the Stokkebye) and had them in my wishlist for quite some time and they recently went on sale, so I got the ones I most wanted.

Otherwise, I don't buy something just because it's on sale, and something being discounted doesn't make me want to try it more or anything. Like I've never seen anything and thought "eh, I'll give it a shot because it's on sale". I also don't go out of my way to try to find deals or bargains or who has the best price even. Something being on sale doesn't entice me to buy it if I wasn't interested before it was on sale.

Keep your eyes out for coupons on pipe hutches and humidors.

Most of the cigars I smoke aren't typically subject to coupon discounts. Sometimes there's a sale, but that's pretty rare - I know Smoking pipes discounts their cigars semi frequently, but their prices are also generally higher than local B&M, so I rarely shop there.

Tobaccopipes used to have great sales on tobacco brands, but they are no more.

In either case, I have enough cigars and pipe tobacco, having built them steadily over the years.

I usually look for coupons after the fact. If nothing is there, I'll continue on with my purchase. I turn off the emails from all these places to prevent myself from going overboard since I have many pounds of tobacco at this point

I don't feel like I have to use a coupon if I receive one, but if there are some things I want to buy, I'm probably going to wait for a coupon or sale.

I usually wait for deals and/or coupons, but based on the Sutliff debacle I ended up paying full price for some stuff before it is no longer available...

Given the current environment with import tariffs, and my future retirement (about three years away), I'm trying to learn to live like a pensioner, so coupons it is...
