Dangit cosmic, that pipe band is amazing.

The only problem is that when I look at this thread, I am overwhelmed by thoughts of the Monty Python sketch "Dead Parrot" and the line "Hello Mr. Polly parrot, I have a nice fresh cuttlefish for you if you wake up!!!"

Very beautiful. Love the history behind jewelry. A gold piece of jewelry is one of the few metals that can be buried in the earth for 1000 yrs and still come out looking like the day it was buried. ?☕
What most amazes me is that people all over the world developed relatively similar understanding, appreciation, and techniques for working gold. It is almost as if it is in our DNA .

It’s funny that there is very little practical use for gold other than adornment. I personally don’t wear gold, but definitely appreciate its luster and what it’s meant to civilizations throughout time. Checkout some of the Catholic Cathedrals of Spain sometime. Absolutely amazing! ?☕

This is super cool. But I won't be truly impressed untill you put a band on a cob.

Seriously....put a band on a cob.

I have banded some cobs. Somewhere there’s a thread with several that I’ve made. I even made a banded cobwarden for a member here. But, that’s been a while ago. It was for a couple of tins of Dark Star. Now of course, that would make that warden worth a fortune, ha ha.

Yeh, I was going to say gold had conductive properties for electronics, but I was thinking primitive man.

I just had a thought…. (I know, weird right?) but, does this all make my non-cuttlebone rings vegan?…. And, should I put a disclaimer on my cuttlebone stuff to warn folks that they may not be vegan friendly?
I mean, the bones just wash up on the beach. It’s not like I have to kill them or anything.
Unlike pearls… they actually enslave the oysters and force them to make them.puffy
