I don't think I've ever see the term mentioned here.
I've heard it on more than one occasion . What triggered my curiosity today was @JimInks post today in the "What are you smoking today ?" thread :In what context have you heard or, more correctly, seen the term?
I've heard it on more than one occasion . What triggered my curiosity today was @JimInks post today in the "What are you smoking today ?" thread :
"Just finished working on estate pipes, and this bowl of year 2017 Esoterica Dorchester in a straight smooth dark brown octagonal paneled mid-60s-early 70s Corporate Era Barling 4945 London England T.V.F. billiard with a square shank and black tapered square stem. This pipe is from the estate of David Cuneo. Ice water and bergs is my drink."

Ah so basically it's in accordance of tracking what part of the company's history the pipe was made in. Such as Pre-Republic Petersons etc.
Yes, just different designations.Ah so basically it's in accordance of tracking what part of the company's history the pipe was made in. Such as Pre-Republic Petersons etc.
I created the term "corporate era" for Barlings when I edited the Barling page for Pipedia. Prior to the change I made, the Barling eras were referred to as "Pre-Transition", Transition, and "Post-Transition". The former terms were based on inaccurate information that didn't gibe with actual events. Using the terms "Family Era" and Corporate Era" is far more accurate, and useful.I've heard it on more than one occasion . What triggered my curiosity today was @JimInks post today in the "What are you smoking today ?" thread :
