Here
I just noticed these.
Are they new?
Anyone tried the Privateer or Sea Dog? If so, please share opinions.
What I really like about Pirate Kake and Black Frigate is the lack of Virginias, so I'm hesitant on these others.
Thanks.

Black Frigate uses the same Virginias as Blockade Runner.

I think somebody at C&D recognized the marketing power of cool tin art, and invented yet another pair of blends to sell it (the art). Well, that's OK with me. Collecting tin art is a pretty cool idea.

Or that they realised there was a group of folks who will buy anything so long as it is loosely related to the seafaring past of pirates and buccaneers.
Marketing has a massive effect on folks minds and so often they can't see that they've been sucked in by it.

Jay.

Sea Dog sounds great, Virginia, Orientals, with a heavy dose of Latakia. It's impossible to say how pleasantly pungent it is without trying some but that's close enough to the recipe for all my favorite Latakia blends.

This article discusses the fascination with pirates.

I’m thinking trying a tin. Has anyone got around to opening and smoking the Privateer yet? Sweet with a healthy dose of Lat sounds great right about now.

Chasingembers, just wanted to point out that Privateer is 10% Latakia and Sea Dog is closer to 20%, so both of these are still less Latakia than Black Frigate.

Damn, I can't even get a chance to try these, I've fallen for another tin of Salior inspired tobacco. Capt. Earle and his Mystic Blend. My wife loves this stuff. I love this stuff. She doesn't smoke a pipe, but she picked a pipe for herself this morning, to smoke Mystic Blend. Looks like she's going to be an occasional pipe smoker. Thanks Captain.

So nobody has smoked it? Not one review on TR.com either.
I guess I’ll take one for the team and drop a review.
However it tastes, I’m sure it will smoke down to a fine white ash and no re-lights. :)
