I’m thinking about trying it as a change of pace when I get tired of too many Virginias. Rum and molasses sound pretty good. How does it compare to Blockade Runner?

Never heard of this blend before but I've been out of the game for a while. If memory serves me right, though, I've got an old tin of Blockade Runner that I jarred some years ago because I found it to be, in a word, bland, at least by my comparison of other C&D blends, and believe me, I've smoked my fair share of C&D. I'll have to go somewhere and look this up to be of any more assistance to you.

When I originally tried BR, I was smoking a LOT and my technique was piss poor at the time, so I'm sure that I was constantly frying my tongue and not able to appreciate whatever subtleties were in BR. I'm going to pick that tin back up here in the next week or so to see if keeping it jarred all these years made any difference to it. The Redburn sounds pretty nice in all honesty, like something that I would have smoked back in my heyday when I would look for the biggest nicotine bomb I could find in the hopes of smoking a bowl, then eating rocks and S#!&^ing gunpowder.

After one bowl, I’m not sure it’s for me. Oddly enough given rum and molasses, I never noticed any sweetness, which I like in Burley blends. Maybe I’ll try it with a little unflavored black cavendish

I like it quite a bit, and have ordered multiple tins for the cellar. It is barely aromatic though. I can smoke it repeatedly without getting tired of it. I am looking forward to trying the John Marr from the series next.

RedBurn is like a Burley version of GLP Navigator, both are enhanced by Clear Rum. Red burn is not an aromatic.

I’ve tried it again after 8 months, and the last 2 bowls have been really good, with plenty of sweetness. And the molasses is there throughout the bowl. Not sure why I was tasting it in those first few bowls I had. Good thing I learned a long time ago to never throw anything away and to revisit initially unliked blends in the future.
