So what is so gret about a cob? Does it smoke diff. Than a briar? Pros and cons please.

They are inexpensive. If one falls overboard while you are fishing you aren't out a bundle. They do smoke a bit differently. I throw away the filters you get in most so the draw is enough to suck through a golf ball. Now that I make stems for them though , that is taken care of. I personally don't find a lot of flavor difference. They are usually a cool smoke as well.

Ok thanks. When you make stems do you make them standard or do the guys ship you their pipe and go from there. Im starting to get everything I need in order to start making pipes but making the stems from scratch seems daugnting.
