incase you guys are wondering i got my first pipe i forget what its called but its a really nice wood and has a nice carving in it, but thats not what this is about
i was interested in making my own corn cob pipe just as a little project, is it as easy as it seems? carve a pipe out of corn?

Most field corn raised now days is designed to have less cob and more corn. MM uses an old fashioned open pollinated type that had large cobs. That said, I have made a lot of pipes from modern corn cobs. It's easy and you get a fuzzy feeling pipe that has a very small chamber. The ones I have made smoked just fine.

Someone said they bought the squirel feed cobs from walmart and were fashioning cobs out of them. Sounds like a good way to get material. For the stem pick up dowel rod from your local lumber company and drill it, you can shape it with sand paper and files if you have nothing else. Hope all goes well, post pics if youmake one.
