@jjtroutbum,

Cake decorators use a rotating plate, and you could put it under the rack; but I don't know where you would buy such a thing.

Hey Kevin, I posted a comment on the article, so that all of the visitors/ nonmembers could see it. Who knows maybe we'll get a few more cobbers! :puffy:

Good article and video. Like Cortez I just can't deal with the cheap plastic stems and will not pay a bunch for a replacement stem.

I could probably become inured to the "corny off-taste" if I had to
I was of the same mind Cortez. My MM cob sat unused for a decade and a half, because of that taste. It is gone now (the taste that is) and I smoke it on occasion. My MM Cobwarden never had that taste; maybe because I smoke Balkans and dottles in it.
As for the stems my MM cob has a vulcanite stem as does my Cobwarden.

It seems that my Cobwarden has earned a permanent place on my "end table", but I still prefer my briars.
I enjoyed the video and the article... very cool.

Thanks Kevin.

The stem has never bothered me, mainly because I don't know anything else...
The tobacco makes all the difference to me. I know pipe selection has a major influence over your smoking experience, but I'll be content enough with my stable of Country Gentlemen to live happily without briars.
Now in the unlikely circumstance that I come into a few dollars, I will revisit that claim and probably make pipe collecting an interest of mine...
(I've also never found the initial "corny" taste of cobs very noticeable, and certainly not unpleasant - doesn't take long to burn off, regardless)
