I hope this will be informative for some. I had a chance today to smoke my MM Doc Cob with a Vauen 6mm charcoal filter. My Cob comes with a 6mm acrylic stems and works perfectly with Balsa filters. I wanted to try Charcoal filters. I have read the cheap plastic stems fit better. The fit with the acrylic stem is not perfect. It's very tight and you need to rotate the filter or stem very slowly to have it to enter. The Vauen filter isvery short and it doesn't need to go in all the way. It does get slightly crushed as you force it in, but it doesn't loose it's function.

The draw is a little tight, but acceptable. Make sure you pack loosely. I often do get tough bite with my aros, but not with this filter. I could still taste my Lanes Buttered Rum, but with zero bite and smoother than usual. I would recommend this if you are highly sensitive to tongue and mouth soreness. If not, stick with the Balsa.20250604_142640.jpg

My cob has plastic stem, and the fit is really tight, only 2mm inside the steam and is already good, there is a lot of space in the shank so I don't bother to take the filter more in the steam. The same is for balsa filters, if i put them any further, it gets annoying hard to take them out once I finish my smoke.
