Starting to Get Obsessed
With the absence of Sutliff leaf for base blends, and the announcement of the final batches of Rouxgaroux, I'm starting to think about stocking up on some blends from WCC and Peretti that rely on Sutliff leaf. Was curious what others thought about the strategy and what blends you would stock up on. Here's my list of what I'm thinking.

WCC
Flake 558
Nor'Easter
Ahab's Comfort
Churchwarden
Old Black Magic

PERETTI
Omega
Tashkent
Ampersand
500
Royal
Cambridge

If you enjoy truly enjoy the blend, the answer is yes.

As posted elsewhere by Ernie, Old Dominion is now officially out of stock as the original configuration with Sutliff tobacco, but will return in the future with different blending components. I’m sure whatever he comes up with will be good, but won’t exactly be the same.

That's my concern. I'm sure the re-formulation will be good, but different. I lucked out and got 8oz of OD before he announced it was done. I assume the run on Rouxgaroux in April will be insane.

I’m set on OD, 558 and Rouxgaroux. Would always like more and wish I was able to snag another lb of Old Dominion and was thinking about it when Rouxgaroux was released last week but opted for a few WCC blends that are new to me instead.

Seeing this thread and seeing Ernie’s post about OD pushed me into making another 1lb order of 558 to squirrel away.

IIRC, Old Dominion is a reformulation of Hampton Roads, which was originally blended from McClelland tobaccos. Ernie released a special 25th Anniversary edition of Old Dominion when he found some vert special leaf that came close to Hampton Roads. I bought a number of tins of that one.
Ernie is a master blender and I have no doubt that whatever he comes up with will be an excellent product.

My Rouxgaroux order just arrived and I was glad I’d added 4oz each of OD and 558 to the cart. As well as 2oz each of OBM, Simply Gold, and the new Jim’s Special. Plus I’d traded for 8oz of 558 from a fella that arrived the same day, so I’m pretty well set on that tasty blend.

But the real sleeper from WCC is Terrapin Station…
