I all my years of pipe smoking there is only one blend I've encountered that did not smell good.

Dishonorable Mentions

I remember back in the late 80s a shop in town used to sell a blend called "Patriot Mixture". It tasted like Peragoric, which has got to be the worst tasting medicine in the world. Instead of Patriot I used to call it Skud.

As ever one knows, a joke is much funnier if someone has to explain it..... Back when Patriot Mixture was being sold we were at war with Sadam. He was shooting Skud misseles at us and we were shooting them down with Partiot misseles . Hey, at the time I thought it was funny! puffy

Title edited for capitalization. Rule 9!

I swear the older I get the more confused I seem to be. I go to buy some candles from a on-line shop and I see a candle that smells like pipe tobacco. I go to another site and they have a candle that eliminates pipe tobacco smell. So does pipe tobacco smell good or should we eliminate it from our sense of smell. I feel like I should buy one of each and place them on opposite sides of the room and let them duke it out. Winner takes all. I guess it really doesn't matter since the Queen of the Castle has already informed the King of the Castle that his pipe smoking would be done in the sun room, preferably with the door closed and the window fan sucking the smoke out the window. The Queen of the Castle has not learned that we all live in our home by kind permission of the cat, and she doesn't mind my pipe smoke. I will concede that I only smoke blends with Latakia outside because they can linger a bit longer than desired. I just go along with things and say that my fibers in my nose died years ago so pipe smoke seems OK to me. My wife (Queen of the Castle) is a wonderful woman and I am blessed that she hasn't banished me to the shed to do my pipe smoking. So my fellow forum members, who would win in the battle of the candles.
This is getting a little off subject, but.... I figure there are about 1,000 candles stored in this house. Why? In case of power outages. Batteries and generators fail but not candles. Our having them proved to be a good idea last winter when we were without power for several days.

Any way, the point is this. You don't have to spend a lot of money to aquire a stash of candles. I've bought all of mine at garage sales for almost nothing and there is every kind you can think of including the smelly kinds women love so much. Below are just some of what we've collected. puffy
