I honestly don't get why people keep their baccy in tins for several years..
I can’t speak for anyone else, but I do it so that I can easily enjoy an aged 2oz/50g tin without disturbing everything else that’s aging. You simply cannot do that with jars stuffed with a pound or more of tobacco; once you’ve opened it for a single bowl, you’ve altered the aging process for the entirety of that jar.

Perhaps that’s not an issue if you’ll get through that jarred pound in a month or so. But I’m only smoking a couple of tins a week. The only blends I jar are either bulks or the open 2oz/50g/whatever tins I’m actively smoking.

I just dry it and smoke it. I jar up bulk just so I don’t run out. Aging tobacco? Not an issue for a 73 year old.
