Yes, although I have to admit to being unfamiliar with what exactly that is (except pretty),
Masur is a sort of a tumor that grows on birch trees, it looks like a lump on the branch and makes a curly grain and a harder wood.
It is used in many scandinavian handicraft traditions; bowls, knife handles etcetera.
