Echidna!

Yes mate, most adorable little creatures. Bad eyesight, good hearing and smell and they just bumble around eating termites all day. They are monotremes which means they lay an egg and the female transfers that to her pouch to hatch, I think 10 days from memory and then it attaches to a teat and is nursed like a mammal. Interesting side note is that the pouch faces backward because they burrow so this stops it filling with dirt.

Hi and welcome from Central England, for a cigarette holder any wood would do, it's not going to be in touch with flame, just find wood with a nice grain.

Totally agree. I'd avoid balsa (ha-ha), or, more seriously, any wood with toxic attributes.
