Columbus Ohio Pipe Show.

I'm planning on going and I'm wondering if anyone has a list of the vendors that are planning to be at the Columbus pipe show in August?

I’m contemplating making the drive for it. Any tips for a first pipe show? Budget is open. I may allow myself to buy a pipe but more in it for accessories and tobacco.

Tips….well, don’t buy the first pipe you like, make the rounds first, then buy. Also, I generally don’t try to negotiate with individual pipe makers, but I do negotiate with estate dealers.

Man, I'd love to go this show but 700 miles is a bit much for me to drive and I hate flying. Be sure to look around before you buy.

The show was very well attended. Vendors were very pleased. The show floor was mobbed at the opening.

I dropped the ball on it; completely flakes out on the date. I thought it was THIS weekend? Had my trip all planned out. The old lady was even gonna join me.
Oops. I’ll still go out that way, probably drive out to Cedar Point, maybe down to Kings Island.

So what did y'all pick up at the show?

I snagged a Scottie Piersel for the wife & a Burkes for myself. Also grabbed a GBD estate, a couple neat pipes, a bunch of cobs & some tobaccos. I wanted so many more and wanted to spend more time there, but unfortunately food truck duty was calling and I had to get back up towards Cleveland.

I think so. I got there Friday night and it was busy. It was packed when I left at 11 on Saturday morning.

How was the tobacco offerings? I’d be especially curious about vintage tins.
In years past they didn’t have a lot, but with the cancellation of the Chicago show, I was hoping that side would’ve shifted over into the Columbus show

Obviously not as much as you'd find in Chicago, but I think there was a good amount of tobacco available for purchase.

Last time I was at the Columbus show, they had; maybe, three or four tables of vintage tins.
Every time Ive been to Chicago show, I’d say 80% of the tables have some offering of vintage tins.
Just figured with Chicago cancelled for a second year, some of those vintage tin offerings would make their way to Columbus show.

A friend who was there told me there was a fair amount of vintage tins. One dealer had purchased estate pipes and tins (some as far back as the (1960's), and had them out for sale.

I'll be interested to see if the TAPS pipe show happens next year, in April, at the Raleigh State Fairgrounds, or the Fair for that matter, in October, where Jerry Perry sells his pipes at the Village of Yesteryear.

I went and brought a few friends with me. I scored 16 tins of McClelland's Christmas Cheer and a couple more pipes. It was very busy. We went on Friday as I figured it would be the best opportunity to get in on the fresh deals. I was planning on going Saturday too but blew my wad of cash Friday ?
