I wanted to show off my new Vauen Auerland Almar pipe that I purchased from here in Australia the other day. The bowl is made of briar with a smooth finish, while the stem is made from Beech wood. It sports a short, acrylic mouthpiece at the tip. This is my first Lord OfT The Rings Auerland pipe and there are at least several models to choose from. As you can see in the photos, the bowl is an absolute pleasure to hold in hand. I'm still debating what tobacco blend I should dedicate to smoking in this pipe. Maybe some suggestions would be welcome?? I can think of arguments for both English and Virginia-based blends, so deciding which way to go is proving rather intriguing. Any help with this decision would be most welcome!!
