Did Castello ever done them? (or am I thinking about the flame pipes)
The Flame style of carving was introduced at about the same time the the Epoca style was discontinued in the late 90s, maybe as late as the early 2000s. I've considered the Flame style to be a thing unto itself and not a continuation or variation on the Epoca style although others may differ on that point.

BTW the last photo in the handout reminded me to mention that Castello has produced some pipes post-discontinuance of the Epoca which have drip wax carving on Sea Rock carving but are not Epocas.

For those specifically interested in Castello Epocas, here are some examples of earlier carving styles (i.e., pre-drips down the sides of the bowl). The first two photos are the shingles style, the third photo is the broken rock style, and the last photo shows some variations on a theme.
