Has anybody used coffee as a stain? I used it on a London made Ben Wade and another pipe that is likely a Comoy. I'm new to pipes and smoking but for me smoking a pipe is much more enjoyable when tinkering on another pipe. I've cleaned estate pipes but these need work for cracks and holes. I chose coffee to use because I was unsure if certain stains would be bad to use. I also want to achieve a dark color in order to hide the repairs. They look great but it doesn't mean to much if it won't last. Has anybody body done this? What was the outcome?.

Cbrand just don't use a stain made for furniture. The typical stain for pipes is an alcohol based leather dye that I can't think of the name of right now.
