Clogged bent vulcanite stem.

What do you do when a piece of fluff from a pipe cleaner gets stuck 1/2" from the button? Any clues or am I looking at getting a new stem.

Run a slender piece of wire through the stem from the opposite end.

Could always flush it with water if a wire doesn't work.

OK...Is there some way of digging it out? When I say stuck I mean like concrete stuck...piece of wire would be wonderful...but it is blocked...wire no go through.

Well....I'm a moron. Forget this I just didn't push the new cleaner hard enough...no stoppage and all is well.

It's a good question. Apply too much force, and you can poke a hole in the mouth piece.

I actually had this issue on a high grade Nording that I bought used. There was a kind of defect when the stem was drilled that made it so that bits of cleaner would clog one of the openings whenever I would clean it, and it was getting to be a real pain in the butt. At the suggestion of someone much smarter than I, I sent it off to a repair guy to have the stem re-drilled, which he did for a modest $10, and it smokes much better now. Something to think about if you have this problem in the future.
