Cleaning With Alcohol - What Alcohol?

I use plain old Jack Daniel's! It cleans well and leaves a flavor I enjoy.

Read the difference between Denatured Alcohol & Isopropyl on Wikipedia. Isopropyl (91% is best) should be OK. But I would not use Denatured.

I think the best would be 151 proof (75.5% alcohol) rum, available in half-pints & Pints. I have only found Everclear Grain Alcohol (151 proof also) in Liquor stores in large 750ml & Liter bottles. Years ago it was 190 proof, but no longer.

I use Everclear, it is available in Wyoming. My bottle says 95% on the label. You can probably find it in different proofs, depending on where it is purchased.

91% Isopropyl Alcohol. It's all I've ever used. No,it will not kill ya,leave behind residues or strange tastes if allowed to dry. Cheap also. []

I've never had any problem.

Of course I do let the pipe dry.

One of the things I do really like; however, is the wonderful taste it imparts for a couple-three bowls.

I usually smoke 1Q in them to take advantage of the marvelous flavor.
