You can do itQuite right! Nice photo, too.
But it reminds me I have 20--25 pipes that need a refresh!
Exactly. Just like dirty silverware, I wash my pipes with soap and water.Smoking a dirty pipe is like eating of off dirty silverware
I run mine through the dishwasher - bottom shelf, heavy duty cycleExactly. Just like dirty silverware, I wash my pipes with soap and water.
I’ve only ever used a mild, scent free organic brand, but it works well to get those oils out, leaving the pipe as fresh as the day I bought it.
So true. Smoking a dirty pipe is like eating of off dirty silverwar
I think the soap and water comment was sarcastic. Never use soap and water on a pipe. I clean mine with a generic Everclear or some other spirit.Soap and water you say?? Interesting, I'll have to try it.
I do this after the chamber soaks in 90% rubbing alcohol for a couple of hours. It dries quick, leaves no taste, it's cheap, no salt required-works every time. I don't use soap either. Not at all. While I don't use soap or detergent often, I always rinse the chamber and airway with hot tap water. Clean, effecient and really refreshes the pipe as no other method.
