In 2008, my wife and I packed up all our stuff and moved into our current house. I was poking around in my "man closet" just now and found a box of tobacco that I apparently packed up and forgot all about. It contains tins and pouches that I bought between 2004 and 2008, judging by the writing on the tins. Most of the tins have been opened, but most are at least half full, and some are full and unopened. Here's what I found:
-- An 8 oz tin of C&D Pegasus from 2006, full

-- A 50 gr tin of McClelland #24 from 2008, full

-- A 50-gr tin of McClelland Mellow Mac from 2007, 1/4 full

-- A 100 gr tin of Reiner Long Golden Flake from 2008, half full

-- A 50 gr tin of Nightcap from 2008, full

-- A 50-gr tin of Margate from 2004, 3/4 full

-- A 50-gr tin of Astley's No. 2 from 2003, half full

-- About 20 grs of Stonehaven, from 2008

-- A 50-gr tin of McCranie's Red Ribbon from 2005, half full

-- A 2 oz tin of Pease Westminster from 2008, half full

-- A 2-oz tin of Pease Odyssey from 2006, half full

-- A 50-gr tin of Bracken Flake from 2006, full

-- a 50-gr tin of Dan's Blue Note from 2008, half full

-- An unopened pouch of the "old" Capstan Blue from 2008

-- An unopened pouch of SWR from 2008
Basically, I found a time capsule of aged tobacco that my former self left for me. Thanks, former self, so glad you didn't smoke Mixture 79!

Wow! We've recently relocated and my stash was definitely one of my priorities ..... granted it's still sitting in its' suitcase except for a couple tins i have popped. You should keep that stuff longer, but definitely rehydrate and smoke up the opened ones....

Well that's a pleasant surprise!

I hope the tobacco in the open tins can be rescued. I imagine they're pretty crispy by now.

cortez, Margate is definitely rescuable. Back when trading was allowed, I acquired a tin that had been opened for quite some time and was as dry as dry pine needles. Rehydrated it for about a week back to "normal" levels and it was delicious, I mean incense-like Latakia goodness ....

Generally speaking, I don’t like surprises...but that one would definitely be an exception.

Nice. It's fun to discover treasures that you already own. I haven't been smoking long enough to have those kinds of surprises but I do find the occasional book I forgot I own.
