I love those Sav 207. I’ve tried to cozy up to other Savinelli shapes but the 207 is my favorite.

olkofri: The Rattray's Dark Ale is also uncoated
At the moment I have mainly Petersons and Savinellis and I'm satisfied with all of them, except for one Peterson (Donegal rocky) and a Savinelli Capitol - which is a second brand, so say it's ok. So I was just thinking if there are any English producers with similar prices and good pipes. But for sure, this time I would like to buy at least an English-style apple. All of these recommended ones look great, and Peterson pipes are always charming so it is hard to resist. Same goes for Savinelli. I also like the appearance of Rattray's and Stanwell pipes, but I have no experience with them. As far as I know they make Rattray's pipes in Germany at multiple sites and Stanwell is not Danish made anymore - maybe Italian? So I'm not sure if I can even trust in the (constant) quality of these. Until now I'm most satisfied with Savinelli but I have so many extraordinary models to buy from them that maybe I would buy a classical shape from somewhere else. It is very, very difficult not to fill up the house with pipes.

That Tundra, Dark Ale and Peterson are killing me!

I agree with several posters. That Tundra is attractive and well priced, IMO.
That said, my Stanwells have been good smokers and you should feel confident buying one if it meets your criteria.
I made this apple a while back. You're not likely to find one of this quality on the open market, but one can hope...

How much you reckon something like that might set me back? Looks nice! I love what you did with the color on that beast. Please tell me I can get one for under $300...I might could sell my car to afford more, but really, I'd like to keep it to get to work.

That apple DID possess some fine markings, didn't it?
The apple itself was about $0.45. The MM Tom Sawyer pipe that provided the donor stem was about $4.00.
The precision artisanal plunging of the tenon into the apple is a service valued at approximately $295.00
So, I am happy to inform you that we can meet your target budget.
I'll send a consignment sheet over for your approval! :puffy:

Wooooo!!!! So stoked! That'll become the cornerstone to my collection! At least until the apple begins to deteriorate rapidly, at which point, I'm not sure how many smokes I can get out of her, but I assure you, there will be many before she falls apart and I have to give her a burial at sea. :puffy:
