Hi Nelson.
With Padron and Oliva you're obviously good around stronger baccys so recommendations above I agree with, and with some of your other cigars mentioned you may be used to somewhat of a tight draw, and here's where you may have an issue (I did, and had a hard time getting away from it).
If you like a medium to tight draw on a cigar and try to pack a pipe to mimic that draw, you'll be packing too tight and will be causing yourself too many issues, like burning hot, tongue bite, wet smoke, etc. If you enjoy a really loose draw, you're good to go. But if not, better get used to it. I'm not sure I've heard of anyone who successfully used a pipe with a draw as tight as a cigar (but I stand to be corrected.)

regardless of what tobaccos you buy first, pick up a few packs of pipe cleaners at the same time, you can find threads here on how to clean up/out your estate pipes, and on how to clean your pipes between use.

My first tobacco was Red Cap regular at 2.59 a pouch, which was a huge mistake. Tasted like burning lawnmower clippings. I quickly found out that my frugal, cheap-a$$ personality would not be carried over into my pipe smoking venture. Buy something good like Sir Walter Raleigh or Prince Albert, or if you are a fruit lover maybeye some Captain Black Cherry or Paladin Black cherry. My go-to lighter is a Bic mini, as the flame is small and cool. My experience with Zippos is that if you want to keep your eyebrows, stay away from them. A good pipe tamper/tool is a must for easy pipe smoking sessions. Also, don't buy the crappy walmart polyester "Fluffy Sticks" as they are called, unless you want your mouth full of detatched plastic hairs. As others have said, get some good cotton cleaners, and be sure to blow off the cotton dust before inserting. It'll be frustrating at first, but don't give up! Happy Smokes

As a cigar smoker turned pipe smoker I found pipe smoking to require more effort than I expected. Lighting, tamping, lighting... But found at the end of it all a more enjoyable smoke.

I smoke both, except I enjoy cigars more but the time just doesn't allow me to partake in them much. I did buy 100 macanudo ascots gold label though so I'll be able to smoke them more often. I learned to smoke the pipe with a simple demonstration with my brother, it all came from experience, by the time I even went onto a pipe forum it was for researching how to clean up an estate pipe. Reading leads to overthinking things which isn't always a good thing

Hardcastle is owned by Dunhill but isn't technically a dunhill. It's like I have 2 parker pipes but I wouldn't say I own 2 Dunhills.

I'm a pipe smoker who has enjoyed cigars, including some Cubans when traveling outside U.S. before the embargo was lifted. So I offer this bit of advice. Don't go in quest of a cigar experience with a pipe. They are two different experiences. I just like the control and variety and cost advantage with a pipe, and the pipes as objects themselves. A number of blends offer cigar leaf as a component in the blend, and you can buy cigar leaf for that purpose in home mixes. It is a nice flavoring and adjunct tobacco. But don't expect it to make a pipe taste like a cigar. Just go for a pipe tobacco delicious quality and you will find it most enjoyable.

I used to smoke nothing cigarettes and cigars, but then I really got into pipe smoking and it changed my life, I don't smoke cigarettes anymore and I only enjoy cigars when I am with my old man or on special occasions.
