Do they make you feel like a wizard?

But seriously, I find them intriguing. However, I personally like a shorter pipe, max. 6 inches. I've had my eye on a few, but they are looong. They just seem like they would be a very relaxing pipe to smoke.

Do you find them particularly relaxing to smoke?

Why do you enjoy them?

Pros-cons?

No, they don't make me feel wizardy or hobbitty.

They're just the perfect length for smoking and driving for those of us who do not clench: arm on armrest holding the pipe and minimal head movement to sip from it.
I'm not a clincher either, but to I wouldn't think of leaving my house with a pipe that long. However I can see your point and how that could work.

I'm sure they can be an enjoyable smoke. Lots of folks love 'em. I've just never had one capture my eye, they appear clumsy to me. But, that's why pipes come in so many different shapes and sizes. There 's something for most every pipe smoker.

I clean my pipes religiously, I'm just not sure I can say I get pleasure from it. Those are some long stems!
There's nothing to it, really. Like any other pipe, they can be taken apart, and the stem washed like dishes (not in the dishwasher, mind you). As for their length, many people leave the house with far larger things. Churchwardens fit nicely in a backpack or briefcase.
