I prefer the ones that have more of a hint of Christmas over the pipes that are more clearly Christmas themed. What's is your preference?
For example the new Peterson Christmas pipes don't scream Christmas to me but do have a subtle warmth that seems right for the holiday.
The pipes that I've seen that scream Christmas almost feel like they're intended to be smoked during holiday events and not year round. Which is fine but not what I like too much.

I bought a Peterson 2012 Christmas 999 new. They were perfect for me in that the only thing that made those "Christmas" were the tiny Christmas trees stamped on the nickel bands. I understand red and green are Christmas colors, but I don't care for them on my pipes.

But those artisan ones don’t evoke Christmas, at least to me. Pretty though.
The top one is Christmas colored. The bottom two were the carver's interpretations of what pipes would Santa like adorned with reindeer antler accents. The factory ones just look like any pipe the brand would make any other time of year.

I am not a fan of the holiday themed pipes for any holiday. Some of the Christmas ones I've seen I wouldn't peg as "Christmasy" if I didn't already know that's what they were... not sure if this year or last year or who, maybe Peterson, just a reddish pipe, forget the stem color, but the accents were like brass or bronze or something?

Yeah, that's very subtle on the "Christmas pipe" and to me, honestly just looked ugly (bronze accents, I'd rather see old and tarnished silver than even clean bronze). That's just me though, I'm sure others loved them or thought they looked good.

I've only seen one truly evocative of Christmas, like the Peterson "Jekyll and Hyde" or "Dracula" for Halloween level of unmistakably "Christmas", and I think it was a W.Ø. Larsen maybe?

Mind you I am not against themed pipes, but just have never seen a holiday one that I liked for any holiday. Either it's too subtle to recognize it as a holiday and just looks like poor color choice, or it's unmistakable and gaudy.

There may have been a handful that I liked the look of from Savinelli that were even close to "definitely Christmas", but I wouldn't buy them for myself, though with those, I could see how others could like them if they're festive enough and love Christmas enough. Like if I had money and were to have gotten one, would have been for decoration at Christmas, though none of them would ever go with our Christmas tree...

Finding these old pics, I am so glad I repainted those peanut shell walls to a subtle green color.

I have both the Rattray's 2025 Yule and the Savinelli 2025 Christmas pipes and they both evoke Christmas thoughts.

I first ordered the smooth version of the Rattray's but the lacquer bubbled and peeled the first time I smoked it. I ended up getting the rusticated model. If I only chose to smoke it on the holiday, I could also smoke it for St. Patrick's Day. LOL

The Savinelli is also a good smoker.
I'm not getting the Christmas edition of either this year because I don't like the stems. The Peterson Christmas pipe isn't available in a shape I like or else its sold out already.
