Christmas Pipes 2018 Savinelli VS Peterson

I really like the green stem. I think it looks best on the prince and the poker though. I’m not super excited about the rustication, but spc has a photo of a smooth pipe with a blond stem that matches exceptionally well.

Nothing about the Peterson really says holiday to me. I am going with a Savenelli. Smokingpipes dot com. has them for 100 and if you buy one before the 31st of July you get a free tin of Savenelli tobacco.

I like the 999 Peterson but what makes it a Christmas pipe is beyond me.

I'm not sure I like the idea that all Christmas pipes need to be green, red and white. To me it's a pipe that you might tell your wife to get you for Xmas, that's what makes it a Xmas pipe. Hey, honey.. Peterson has a very nice Christmas pipe this year..hint hint.

Burleydude, I agree -- a deeper green & swirl/marbelized I think would look better.

I've given up on Peterson. Tired of poor drilling and dip staining. If Laudisi can fix these things I'd start buying them again.
Oh and the Sav Christmas pipe went up on smokingpipes.com last week.

I read that they quit dip staining years ago. None of my recent Peterson's have it.
