The only radio station I can pick up here where I work starts just after Thanksgiving. I love it and so does the wife. I especially like them made before 1970 for the most part.

I can honestly say that I like all forms of music! However, I have a hard time with Christmas music. I'm pretty sure it stems from it being over played virtually everywhere starting abour NOW!

WAY too early for Christmas music now.
I've always thought that experiencing Christmas things at any time other than Christmas time is a bit creepy. It reminds me of those roadside Christmas Villages we'd drive by on summer road trips.

Maybe it is a bit early yet for Christmas Music. I'm usually ok with it about a week before Thanksgiving. Otherwise it gets really old really fast. I know it will likely be starting up where I work and I'll be hearing it for hours on end probably from this very week until the first of January. Yikes.... however....
I came across this beautiful piece of music today. For those of you who have not heard her music, Lindsey Stirling is an amazing musician. I love her music. So this is my early Christmas present to my fellow pipers here at Pipesmagazine. I truly believe, regardless of religious beliefs and regardless of musical preference, you will all find this absolutely beautiful, absolutely stunning, very moving, and absolutely soul stirring. So load up your favorite pipe, right now, with your favorite tobacco, lean back and turn up the volume. And enjoy :)

In my house the satellite radio plays Christmas music, exclusively from the day after Thanksgiving through New Year's Eve.

My wife starts playing Christmas music in October. If I hear the music from the Charlie Brown special one more time I'm going to hurl. I do enjoy alternate takes on traditional Christmas songs and tire of hearing the same artists singing the same songs year after hear.
A couple of favorites of mine, enjoyed in small doses:
John Prines Christmas-sort of album, is terrific, from "A John Prine Christmas"

My favorite Christmas song:

Best Christmas Album:

A Christmas Gift for You from Phil Spector. No one sings a Christmas tune like Darlene Love. The production is amazing.

I just love Xmas music but I'm very particular about the way it's performed
I need large orchestras, acapella singers (Barry Manilow comes to mind) brass quintets-that type of thing
When I was in school I arranged some tunes for brass quintet during the holidays and included 'oh Hanukkah oh Hanukkah' in several church services in NYC that were very well received by the attendees!

Nice thread, Tarak.
I'm with the old timers: Christmas music post 11/1, especially the non-Anglican hymns, should be sung by the golden throated crooners: Frank, Bing, Dino, Nat and Mel with a pass given to Harry Connick, Jr. and anybody else with the stones to sing Cahn and Styne's "The Christmas Waltz."

I like Christmas music - starting sometime in December. Then I listen to it in small, controlled doses.

I'll admit it. While driving over to see the folks it was snowing in the mountain passes and on came the Christmas music. Gotta have Johnnie Mathis and Jim Brickman. The minute we were on the flat the books on CD came out - it's a 6 hour journey.

I crank out my Christmas radio channel the day after Thanksgiving. I give each holiday their own time and enjoy them separately.
Soon as Thanksgiving is over though: BAM! Christmas music erupts!
