Gawith Rum Flake is a great Christmas time blend and Peterson always used to release something before the pandemic hit.
Peterson stopped shipping their alternately title Christmas/Holiday blends to the US in 2015 or 2016. Though they still produced and sold them in Europe.
2019 was the last time they marketed one. (And it was a pleasant enough smoke)

Wow, I didn't know that. Not that the US is hurting for new blends, Christmas or otherwise. In England we basically get the Christmas Peterson and Gawith and definitely no straight blends like Cringle Flake?.

I'm a sucker for Christmas pipe tobaccos & will buy a few every year when they're offered. Over the years I've really enjoyed the ones from Uhles, Peretti, Boswell, C&D, Dan Tobacco, Milan Tobacconist, & others.

It seems to me that the recent deeming regulations have limited new Christmas blends.

Boswell's Christmas Cookie is so popular that it's a regular year-round blend for them.
It seems that many blenders, C&D for example, are recycling "old" Christmas blends. Peretti's Yuletide seemed to be the same the last couple years. I don't think Uhles put out a 2020 Christmas blend.

The best "new" Holiday blends I've tried are The Country Squire's Figgy Pudding & Cordial Friends. Both are mild aromatics that are simply so darn deliciously pleasant to smoke. I see that they're now available so pardon me while I order a few ounces...

We used to have a definitive advantage in premium blends. ?Sadly McClelland closed its doors, and all their collaborations disappeared as well (McCrainie’s, Peretti, Butera blends with McClelland tobacco).
We’ve still got Esoterica, but you’ve got Germain’s, K&K, SG, G&H, etc. (Some available in the States, but more variety AND availability inEurope).

The nice thing about forums is you can establish trading buddies.
You get US blends; they get Euro blends.?

Yeah, Mcclelland was a huge loss. The only thing I can compare it to is if Gawith shut up shop over here.
I've only tried a single year of their Christmas Cheer but it was amazing. Wish i'd started smoking a pipe 5 years before I did because i'd have a lot more Mcclelland than I do. I'm grateful for what i've got though.

The We Three Kings blend this year is very good. The topping is nice but not too in your face but I think the Katerini really sealed the deal with me. Have been debating on if I want more than the 2 tins I picked up or not.

I never considered Christmas Cheer a “Christmas Blend”. It was superb (my favorite was the 2011, followed closely by the 2006.
Now their Holiday Spirit.... that screamed Yuletide. (Though I much preferred CC)

Likely due to Christmas and Yule being two separate holidays.

Actually Yuletide is a season; normally 12 days, but not always. While Christmas can be either a “season” (twelve days), OR a specific holiday Dec 25th.
But either way, the discussion was of “Christmas”/“Holiday” blends. And my point was CC doesn’t scream “Christmas” to me. It’s a great Virginia Flake Though.
(Somehow Ketchup doesn’t bring images of the holidays to mind)

I'm smoking a tin of the 2014 at the moment and i've got a tin each of the 1997 & 1999 vintages as well as a tin of 40th Anniversary. Can't wait to try them.

Yuletide is celebrated from the Winter Solstice to the beginning of the New Year while Christmas is from the Nativity to Epiphany. It would seem that smokier latakia blends would be for the cold of winter's beginning and for the burning of the Yule log while Orientals would make more sense for exotic spices for Christmas.

Put a matched pair of Petersons. A Standard and a Churchwarden in my cart a few days ago while I contempted how badly I actually wanted to spend the cash vs how much I'd hate myself if I let them slip away. Logged in yesterday and noticed if I ordered they would send a holiday blend. They had a few tempting choices but One a Vanilla Honey Virgina....
Pretty much sealed the deal for me Instantly?‍♂️
Just can't get enough of that combo.

Yule is a holiday too, just depends on who you talk to. Remember... everyone doesn't celebrate Christmas, Hanukkah & Kwanzaa. ?

Now I'm gonna shut my pipe hole before I get a spanking for disregarding the playground rules. ?

I've got some Figgy Pudding but missed out on Cordial Friends last year. Thanks for the heads up! Time to order!
