I think they're just jealous you have the confidence to smoke not just a pipe but a cool nosewarmer that's reminiscent of colonial times ... ie: when men were pioneers/settlers/hunters/builders. Lie a sophisticated devil anse. Ignore them. They need to grow up. As for the dumb comment they probably call everything they are jealous of or don't have ... dumb....
On the basis that bad publicity is better than no publicity, it might be that with a little push you could start a trend of pipe smoking among your colleagues.

You can gift this pipe to your coworker. It sounds like he could pull it off.
Smoke what you like. If you are looking for something to match your face or look great with, you'll have to spend time looking at yourself on a mirror. I don't do that too often. Beside, what you think looks great on you might still look like a pile of turd to other person. There's no way to win in this situation. If you like it, that's the one you should smoke.
It's a simple enough formula.

A good smoke is more important to me than how others perceive me. Remember all the anti-tobacco propaganda/fanaticism affects that perception so really don't give a ____.
I personally don't care what anyone thinks of my pipe. But I generally chose a pretty classic english shape if I'm gonna be out and about with it stuck in my face. Once upon a time people were very concerned with how a pipe "fit" them and companies actually offered guidance to what shape "fit" your face/body type.
When it comes to choosing a pipe, I believe it's a deeply personal decision that goes beyond mere aesthetics or material. While factors like the shape, size, and material of the pipe certainly play a role, it ultimately boils down to finding that perfect symbiosis between the pipe and the smoker.
