There's a "sticky" at the top of the repair and restoration page about pipe mud.
As far as I'm concerned, the nick at the bottom of the bowl doesn't look too bad and I wouldn't worry. Nor would I bother with pipe mud. The slightly less than perfect draught hole would not concern me either. I have pipes like that and they smoke fine.
Nice looking pipe. Fire it up and enjoy.

Thank you once again for your insightful inputs. Unfortunately, it turned out that it had a Vulcanite stem... :crying: and I do not get along well with Vulcanite. So I had to return it... Nonetheless, it was a gorgeous pipe and would have smoked great.

Bummer. I've always found vulcanite to be the most comfortable, even if a PITA sometimes as it ages. It was a lovely pipe.
