This company has a very nice website, but with two glaring exceptions: 1) where are pictures of the pipes, and 2) should one so desire, how does one purchase a pipe?
Hey Perique,
Just by way of explanation, our current site is primarily intended to be
informative--it should provide a lot of information about the pipes and the dedicated team of pipe-people behind them. It is not intended to be a retail website, or even a "product showcase" website. We are currently building sites both for Neptune Briars and Icarus Pipes, and both sites will offer photos and descriptions of our two flagship lines. As you can all imagine, building a full-scale pipe factory from the ground up is a monumental endeavor, and we've been overwhelmed by the response to the pipes, so we're chipping away at things on all fronts, but it will be a month or so before the interactive shape catalogs will be "live." In the mean time, rest assured that we're working hard to get pipes to our distributors and retailers around the world. By year's end, you should be able to buy Neptune or Icarus in one of 1500+ tobacconists across the globe.
One of the things that sets us apart from other pipe brands, however, is that a $150 Neptune will cost you exactly $150 at a large online retailer, and exactly $150 at your local brick-and-mortor tobacconist. Above all, we want to maintain the integrity of our brands, and we want to support everyone--large and small--who carries our pipes. This will level the playing field and offer each retailer an opportunity to market our Neptune and Icarus pipes to their respective customers without having to worry about online discounting.
Because all of our pipes are individually finished--
by individuals--each one is going to be slightly different, so our interactive shape catalogs will only serve to give you an idea of the pipes that are
possible. We believe that pipes are as unique as the collectors who smoke them, so we don't want to sell pipes based on a "model." We want for our retailers to photograph or display individual pipes for the collector to choose, personally. In other words, the pipe you see is the pipe that you receive in the mail, or the pipe you take home!
All this to say, we realize everyone is chomping at the bit to get at these pipes, and I assure you all, we're working tirelessly to make that possible within the month. Chicago was sort of our "soft opening," and we expect to have 1000-1500 pieces at IPCPR in August. Shortly thereafter, the pipes will be available from the four corners of the earth. In the interim, you can follow us on Twitter/Instagram/Facebook and probably some other newfangled social media outlets I don't know about to get updates and teasers on current happenings.
If anyone has any questions, you're also welcome to e-mail us at info@briarworksintl.com and someone--probably Rita--will get back to you within the same day.
All the best,
Todd
