@Scrapyard Ape your aversion to cherry blends is understandable, but even more so with the roach backstory! It's definitely a polarizing flavor, without much middle ground. I myself have tried a handful of them, mostly a one-and-done romp in the PG, like CAO Cherrybomb for example. However, I still keep a jar of Drew Estate Heirloom Cherry for the once in a blood red blue moon occasion when I actually feel in the mood for it. Most of them are way too over the top for me, though.

Baskin-Robbin's (or was it Carvel?) Cherry Vanilla used to ease my hangovers years ago. I craved it, and had to drive 35 miles to get it. I've got zero cherry in my 'baccy stash, but I'd buy a tub of Middleton's Cherry if it were available, just for the nostalgia. They toned down the cherry in it's last years. A lot.

I am sorry you have that experience. That bug sounds so gross.

I like almost every tobacco and that extends to cherry blends. I even like Paladin, which is a horrid chemical cherry. For some reason it reminds me of some cherry flavor I tasted as a kid and so I find it fun. Cherry bomb, black cherry, blood red moon are all fine. Celtic Talisman is really good.

I'm a bit of a cherry blend aficionado myself and have tried a great deal of them! Let me see if I can make a little list of the ones I've tried...

Borkum Riff - Mixture with Cherry Cavendish
Captain Black Cherry
Country Squire - Trumpeter
Cult Blood Red Moon
Gawith Hoggarth & Co. - American Black Cherry
Gawith Hoggarth & Co. - Kendal Black Cherry
Gawith Hoggarth & Co. - Sweet Black Cherry Twist
Lane Limited - TK-6
Lane Limited - Very Cherry
Mac Baren - 7 Seas Red Blend
Middleton's - Cherry Blend
Paladin - Black Cherry
Peter Stokkebye - PS3 Cherry
Ravenwood Fine Provisions - Hobbit's Leaf
Samuel Gawith - Black Cherry Cavendish
Smoker's Pride - Cherry Cavendish
The Story Teller's Pipe - Sweet Galenas

Of the bunch the only ones I found truly repugnant and unsmokable were Gawith Hoggarth's American Black Cherry, Sweet Black Cherry Twist, and Samuel Gawith's Black Cherry Cavendish. Those three all left an overwhelmingly cough syrupy flavor in my mouth that took hours to go away.

My favorite cherry blend of all is (surprisingly) Smoker's Pride Cherry Cavendish, which has a very pleasant and non-cough syrupy old timey cherry hard candy flavor, with no extra additions like chocolate, vanilla, almond, or cinnamon that you often find in other blends. Just good Burleys and Virginias with a mellow and not overly sweet cherry candy flavor added in.

My runners up would be Lane TK-6, which is basically Cult Blood Red Moon but with the chocolate and vanilla secondary flavors toned way down, and oddly Gawith Hoggarth's Kendal Black Cherry. It's not at all cough syrupy like Gawith's other cherry blends are and has a non-rose geranium floral note to it that really works and makes it taste like the aroma of cherry blossom trees blooming in the spring. It's a bit odd, but in a good way. puffy
