My Scotch forbears were definitely farmers since before Christ left Chicago, but after hitting the US for 30 years, found a better life in as a lumber merchant, then started a mercantile store, which turned into a bank! They were most likely victim of The Clearings in Scotland which is why, for many, they did hard labor in Ireland. How they scraped up the dough to buy passage to the New World has long fascinated me, as I have not a clue on that.

I have great memories of a two week business trip to Ireland. Dublin was the highlight, visited the brewery and several old wood panelled pubs. I recall buying Bruce Springsteen's album "Born In The USA" in a record shop on Grafton Street. Happy days.
Regards,
Jay.

Peterson pipes and tobaccos welcomed here! Irish Oak has grown to be one of my personal favorites, and well Irish Flake just simply rocks my world. Long live the Irish, even though my blood is Scottish.
