I don't really get it, I thought he was on death row ... meaning he awaited the electric chair or fire squadron or something, how come he lived to such an advanced age?

I don't always agree with Simon, but when I do it's because he writes stuff like this.
But the important question not answered is did he smoke aromatics or was he a straight burley guy? Did he favor Danish freehands as opposed to Falcon Pipes and how were his blending skills? Outside of that I hope they incinerate the little sh*t and tip his ashes down a handy and nearby sewer so that there is no shrine for the next generation of mental defectives to visit!

Me too, strikes strikes a fine balance between the absurdity and venom. If we say that we want to respect life by disallowing capital punishment, what do we do with such as Manson who seems to absolutely deserve death; and the cost of keeping him in prison is irrelevant. If we say we will never again go to war, what do we do with such as Hitler? Black and white thinking is great until confronted by a prodigious gray

I personally am a strong believer in capital punishment...hanging actually. However I am in conflict with myself as if someone were to commit such a heinous crime to one of mine I would be screaming for the culprits to be hanged yet my sensible head would be saying give the bugger a life term of really hard time.
Over here we have things a bit skew whiff compared to you folks over the pond. For example, over here a 'lifer' gets a TV, Playstation (FFS), a stereo etc etc in his cell whereas as far as I am aware a lifer in the US gets none of this...and rightly so.
Proper hard time in lieu of hanging is the way to go for these folks. As for costs in keeping them there that's simple, get them doing the work no one else is prepared to do and if they refuse then cut their rations.
Regards,
Jay.

Food for thought, for me at least. I used to think death the ultimate punishment, but then considered what 40 years of waiting around to die in jail must be like. The horror, the horror.

For a psychotic, murderous, racist, manipulative, narcissistic pedophile shitbag, he wrote some pretty good songs, though.

I’m not a fan on the man but I have heard his music before and I was really surprised by it.

Well, I agree with the majority here in saying good riddance. It is sad that people like Manson get such a kick out of convincing some many others to walk down their evil path.

I second the motion. Let's let CM rest in peace or otherwise. I could write a long diatribe against his procurer guile and evil, but I'll use the energy some other way.
