Charatan Stamped Not For Re-Sale

I posted a photo of this in another thread, but does anyone know anything about the stamping on this one?

It is quite small as well, here it is compared to a Selected.

Nice grain on that Charatan Selected.
It's only a guess, but the "Not for Resale" may have been either a sample pipe for retailers or perhaps a special event or club pipe.

If I remember correctly, the "not for sale" pipes were pipes that were either gifted or sold at discount to Charatan employees.

I have a Dunhill pot that was given to me by the (then) distributor that was stamped like that.
