Anything that appeals to your senses, many people (Including me) will continue to look for variety. Others will settle down to what they like. Both are ok.

Take the case of food - It serves the dual purpose of nourishment and appealing to your senses. That’s why many of us crave variety in food.

Take the case of alcohol. It also has a dual purpose, and if you are craving for taste, you will look for variety.

Same goes with exotic vacations,
tobacco, nice perfume and many others.

I change around a lot too but not because I'm bored but because the blend or category I've been smoking suddenly seems "too much," almost cloying. This is more true for lakelands or latakia heavy blends and less true of virginias. I rarely smoke aromatics but, when "I've had it" with the subtle tastes of natural tobaccos, they are a refreshing change.

The remedy for the burden of choice is a cob filled with Carter Hall, and without afflicted thinking. Stop it! Join a codger board and enjoy the haze of early dementia.

In Jim Jarmursch's Dead Man Johnny Depp wanders in a supposedly tobacco-less landscape. Everyone keeps asking one another if they have any tobacco. A racist shopkeeper Alfred Molina has tobacco but won't sell it to Depp. Molina draws on Depp but Depp is faster. Delightfully absurd.

Back to tobacco and the lesson herein for those burdened by thinking and labored choice. Surrender your mind, become the codger whom you really are and smoke accordingly.

My tastes have changed as I improve my smoking technique and discover more tobaccos. I started on aros, then burley was my thing for awhile. Now It's mostly English and some Balkan.
