I won this on Ebay for $39.99
1. Did I get a good deal?

2. Is it in fact a Karl Erik and if so, how do you know?

3. The only markings are "Champ of Denmark" and "0", I have heard that a Karl Erik will have at least an "E" somewhere
Thanks for the help!!

Yes, Champ of Denmark was in fact one of the brands produced by Karl Erik Ottendahl. Very nice! I really like the long slinder shank design. Congratulatons. I think any pipe by Karl Erik in the $40.00 and up price range is a good deal.
Here is some additional info in case you have not read it,

I just picked up one of these Champ freehands, didn't even know Erik was involved (I'm not really boned up on my pipemaker history quite yet) though it was a pleasant surprise. I'm not a freehand kinda guy, but every now and then one speaks to me -and is usually out of my price range- and it's a bonus that he was attached to this brand and put his finishing touch to it.
