A dealer fairly close to me has a Chacome Sphere #5 in stock, but I cannot find any information on it....just curious if anyone has had or seen this pipe?
Info is pretty scant on this.....but it is an interesting and nice looking pipe.
Any help appreciated.
Thanks,
M

I've seen several of their "shankless" shapes. A more common version is their volcano.

Chacom Sphere #5
$100.00 only 1 left!

In 1922, Henry Comoy joined forces with his cousin Chapuis. Together they created the Chacom brand name in 1928. After World War Two, Chacom became leader of the French, Belgian, German, Scandinavian and even the American markets. In 1972, Yves Grenard, Pierre Comoy's second cousin took over the reins of the brand. Today, due to its age-old tradition and an immeasurable know-how. Chacom remains the leading French brand.

I'd be afraid of heat damaging the acrylic at the draft hole.

From a purely new user point of view and one who slept through most physics class in school....I was concerned with that aspect also.
68 grams and that stem and angle, and then adding heat is concerning....

That is why I was wondering as it is not a too often seen style.

I was thinking someone may have put form over function?

Maybe not..it's a two hour drive and it is a rainy Monday, might go see it after all.

My Chacom pipes are good French factory pipes above their price points in quality, in my opinion. I'm a little put off by the various pipes that do not have a shank, simply because they must be less expensive to produce and the prices don't often reflect that. These exist in various brands, and some are downright pricey for what they are. I might come to love the look, but I don't yet. It looks like a production shortcut to me.
