Congratulations Pipe Novelist! This bowl's for you. And kudos as well on your choice of subject matter...much criticism and meditation is needed in those areas, IMO.

Thanks to everyone for their kind words and congratulations. This competition is the ultimate exercise in discipline for me, but it's a lot of fun as well. I have seen a lot of comments asking when the novel are going to be published, and I don't really have a concrete answer, but I will give you some insight as to what's going on.
My first year National Novel Writers Month novel just got through with it's second rewrite and I submitted it to a publisher that deals in publishing Kindle versions of books only. They publish a lot of the work that they get and it allows me to have the novel out there at a cheaper price to the public and a lot of people are switching to Kindles and such now anyway, so I figured that was a good market to go for.
This years entry is complete in terms of the competition portion of the novel, which consists of 50,000 words, and the actual piece of work is not done yet. I will continue to work on it over the coming months, and what I have right new in terms of content needs a serious haircut. The way I ifd magine it will work is that the 50,000 words that I have now is going to get chopped down to about 35,000-40,000, and then I will pick up back on the main content of the novel and finish it up in terms of story, but I have to try and juggle that and keep working on the science fiction/murder mystery novel I had started before the competition. If this sounds like a lot, it is. I'm just thoroughly insane.
And as an edit: I am not really comfortable sharing this years competition novel with anyone until I give it the attention it deserves, but anyone interested in reading last years entry can hit me up and I can send you the competition version to read. The version that was sent off to be reviewed is on my other computer at the moment, but I do have the competition version handy, and that will get you started anyway.
