Really good. I tried is a year ago and put it away for a year. Much better now after it settled down. Nice lemony Va with a hint of mineral that comes off the semiose. Perique is very background so it doesn't overpower.

Nice work
The perique is made from Semois. Jitterbug made that, and it has that minerally tang from the fermentation. I love it, and wish that I knew more about his process.

I like it as well. Not too plumy. Almost like the difference between a California Cabernet (full fruit forward) vs an Italian (less fruit, more earth and mineral).

I got bored with all my cigars having those Spanish cedar notes. I get a lot more flavors from pipe tobacco than I did with my cigars. The older the cigar, the more cedar flavors and I had a ton of aged cigars. Cigars were fun for a number of years but then I got the pipe bug. I think in the beginning it was about the pipes and then finally I concentrated on pipe tobacco. I finally figured out that certain sizes, shapes and weights were just as important as the tobacco I was planning on smoking. I finally learned that certain pipes smoke flakes better than others and that flakes did better in certain sizes and shapes. I began buying tobacco that I thought would smoke best in certain pipes.

I dedicate everything either by genre(Vaper) or a specific blend to a certain pipe. For example I have 2 Rad Davis Lovats that smoke my 2007 Stonehaven like a champ. I found the combo with the first Lovat then I said screw it let me see how it smokes in the second.
Here is the first:

Here is the second.

I don't think I've ever smoked a blend with a cedar note; maybe that Sutliff TS24 would be a way in, to sample the flavor. I'm guessing it is bulk.

Indeed. I bought some today from
TobaccoPipes.com on a recommendation from this thread.

Some folks noted the cedar coming from the Latakia. And I trust those with more wisdom than I on the matter. However, I enjoy a good many blends with Latakia, and have never noticed this clean, refreshing cedar note with any of them before.

One exception might be Boswell’s Northwoods, which I love. Though in that blend, I find it more reminiscent of a hint of clove, (another flavor I absolutely adore. Clove candy that’s not overly sweet is my all-time favorite. I’m not a big sweets/candy person. But I can’t turn that stuff down.)
