I am not a fan of aromatics, most that I have issues with are not overly moist. I do tend to maintain a faster cadence, but I rarely have issues with Virginias, burley, etc

Cavendish for me, has always offered better mouth feel and a cooler smoke.

And the way I understand Cavendish, no, it shouldn’t make blends hotter, if anything cooler.

Here’s a nice article on Cavendish if you haven’t seen it.

As asked before, what blends have you smoked? That might help if it could be related to a particular blend? 🤔

Also when you mention hot, as in temperature hot?

A lot of pipe tobacco, given the leaf varieties and PH balance also lead to a chemical bite or spicy hot sensation too, not heat related.

I agree with the general consensus which is that it probably has something to do with a particular blend or the way the smoker hits the blend.
Fun side note didn't really like burly for a little while. I smoked it faster then other blends because it never bites me. After slowing down I realized it wasn't burly it was how I smoked it.
