If you find that they are smoking hot, then allow me to recommend that you slow your puffing. Think "sip" instead of "puff," and you may find them to be much more enjoyable.
I am not a fan of aromatics, most that I have issues with are not overly moist. I do tend to maintain a faster cadence, but I rarely have issues with Virginias, burley, etc
I agree with the general consensus which is that it probably has something to do with a particular blend or the way the smoker hits the blend.
Fun side note didn't really like burly for a little while. I smoked it faster then other blends because it never bites me. After slowing down I realized it wasn't burly it was how I smoked it.
